Donna at Upstate Kayak Rentals offers 2 different options: 1) Staffed Walk-Up Locations (in either Schenectady or Waterford) or 2) Self-Serve Kayak Rentals (approx 12 different locations) (mostly located along the Mohawk and Hudson rivers) -------------------------------------------- The 2 staffed Walk-Up locations are: -------------------------------------------- MOHAWK HARBOR (Schenectady,NY) Hours: Monday - Friday 11:00a - 6:00p Saturday and Sundays 10:00a - 6:00p Cost: $30.00 3 hours / $35.00 4 hours --------------------------------------------- WATERFORD BOAT LAUNCH (Waterford,NY) Hours: Monday - Friday 11:00 - 6:00 Saturday and Sundays 10:00 - 6:00 Cost: Single kayak: $30.00 3 hours $35.00 4 hours Double kayak: $50.00 3 hours $60.00 4 hours CASH ONLY -------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------- Their Self-Service Kayak rentals are similar to a bike share, except they are equipped with kayaks instead of bikes. Each of their self-serve rental locations consist of a rack of 6 locked kayaks which are available to rent to the public 7 days a week in up to 3 hour intervals. They are located at various spots along the Mohawk River or the Hudson River in the Capital District area. COST: Same Location: $50.00 for 2 kayaks (up to 3 hours) includes life jackets and paddles. Equipment is picked up and returned at the same rental location. One Way Paddling: $50.00 + $30.00 restocking fee for 2 kayaks. Total $80.00.
