The Maier Museum is a small treasure adjoining Randolph College. Holds the best American art outside of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond and The National Gallery in Washington, DC. In fact it orginated as a repository for our nation's finest American paintings during the Cold War! The Maier Museum of Art is exceptional for a relatively small liberal arts college and, fortunately, it's in the center of town less than a mile from downtown Lynchburg. Highly suggested for art aficionados.
