Free access. Not recommended for disabled people (implies staircase climb). Completed in 1893, and displaying a majestic cylindrical tower 62 meters high and 66 meters above sea level, which make it the highest in the Country and one of the highest in Europe.
The Lighthouse of Praia da Barra, or also know as the Lighthouse of Aveiro, is an iconic landmark of the region, and definitely worth a visit. You can visit it on Wednesdays afternoons at 14h, 15h or 16h. You will have to climb 271 staircases but the effort is compensated by the gorgeous views! Well worth the climb.
