This is one of the only "Living Open Air Museums" in the country. Located on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Worcester, you can experience a snapshot of history by walking a path through centuries old "Kapstyl" House, Tobacco Shed, Soap Kitchen, Dairy, Early Farm homestead, labourers cottages, Lye Pots, Raisin Court and Wine Cellar, to name but a few of the sites available. Site Guides are able to provide you with insight into the way of life of farmers and their labourers from a bygone era. Fascinating stuff indeed!

Kleinplasie is a farm stay with farm animals and a museum that demonstrates how people lived in the area a hundred years ago. They have great activities for kids.

WORCESTER in the Breede River Valley has a rich history covering a time when the region was inhabited by indigenous hunter gathers and pastoralists followed by trekker farmers and later the introduction of commerce and industrial change. Owing to its situation in the Breede River Valley, the Worcester Museum is a cultural history museum with a strong focus on agriculture. The collections emphasize the Cape colonial history with agricultural implements, wagons, furniture, glass, ceramics, textiles and metal. The grounds have been developed with structures forming a traditional Cape farmyard. Live demonstrations depict activities of a bygone era such as the baking of bread in an outdoor oven.
