Many of Brisbane's sights & activities are based around the river & taking a river cat (catamaran ferry) is a peaceful & enjoyable way to see the city & get to many venues easily.

a Trip on the Brisbane City Cats up (all the way to Queensland University) or down the river to Portside, is a great way to see Brisbane - even on a rainy day.

It is lovely to see our Beautiful city from the river. You can walk to UQ stop St Lucia and enjoyed a very nice ride on the ferry.

The CityHopper service allows you to rediscover Brisbane for free with ferries running every 30 minutes between 6am and midnight, seven days a week. The CityHopper travels along the Brisbane River, stopping at North Quay, South Bank 3, Maritime Museum, Thornton Street, Eagle Street Pier, Holman Street, Dockside and Sydney Street terminals. Must do ride from Bulimba into the city as far as Queensland University and back again. Great relaxing way to get a sense of that windy river.
