Nestled between Cocles and Punta Uva lies the small community of Playa Chiquita. Home to many expats and some of the areas oldest families Playa Chiquita is a funky blend of the old and the new. There are several restaurants and one supermarket but prices tend to be on the high side in this area, so be aware. The beaches here are more like private coves tucked into the jungle. Coral reef protects the coves from waves so this is a place to unwind and relax in the calm waters.

We are a little partial, since UP! HOUSE Costa Rica is only 200 meters to the ocean at Playa Chiquita - but this beach is truly a hidden treasure. A morning walk may find you in complete solitude at this pristine beach. We enjoy relaxing in one of the tide pools created by the reef - calm and clear waters. You are likely to see schools of fish swim right by you! The trees make for a perfect umbrella on hot and sunny days. And, look around - you are likely to spot monkeys and sloths!
