Joseph Sylvia State Beach

The easy beach to get to. Minimal surf.

There are beaches all over the island but our favorite is just a short drive, bike, or bus ride down the street. Gorgeous views in the summertime of the boat traffic and go for a jump off the bridge!

A fun beach for kids and young hearted. Park near the jumping bridge.

An excellent option for families with kids. Very calm water and parking on the road close to the beach. Make sure to have kids use the bathroom before going here, as there are no bathrooms at the beach (though the dunes can suffice in an emergency!).

This 2-mi. stretch of sandy beach & shallow water was a main shooting location in the film "Jaws."
