Tippek a helyiektől
This is the less traveled part of Acadia National Park. Plenty of places to hike, bike, or just relax
Newly opened part of Acadia National Park 2 years ago. Should take < 1 day. Easy driving distance from the property. Bold coast, beautiful granite rocks.
Get a tides app and go 2-3 hours before high tide. Often spectacular waves crashing on granite rocks and I've never had a bad day at Schoodic, It's just magical. Go, enjoy and 20 minutes after you get there you'll take out your phone, call your therapist and say 'I don't need you anymore.' :)
This is our closest entrance to Acadia National Park. Just as scenic as Bar Harbor but without the tourist crowds. Let the Island Explorer Shuttle take you around the peninsula - it's free.

“A great place for families to take their kids swimming. It is shallow for quite a ways so safe for smaller children. There are also some good trails in this area, think about going for a hike and a swim afterwards.”

“One of our favorite public beaches in the summers. We like the long stretch of shallow water which is safe for young kids to play. Still cold in the summer but the kids seem not to mind. Not as busy as other beaches. Daughter likes to play on a nice stream that runs across the beach into the ocean. Rumor has it that Martha Stewart has a house in the area ”

“Wonderful hike for the whole family. 1.3 miles one way. The Schoodic Beach Trail is 0.5 mile from the parking lot to the beach, and then 1 mile from the beach to the mountain summit.”
