The oldest place in town. Here Amsterdam was born. It literally was a dam put in a river that flowed from Central Station to the South. Everything was swamp land. But the Dam gradually became the central spot where shippers and merchants did business and it was in this neighborhood the VOC was formed. The start of Holland's Golden Age.
