Located just north on the way to Sheffield Conservation or Bon Echo is the walkable village of Tamworth. There is the Black Cat Cafe in the Old Tamworth hotel, the amazing Book Shop tucked off the main street in an old carriage house, The Riverfront bakery, a small grocery store, LCBO, friend studio space called Bon Eco design, and more!

In picturesque village of Newburgh has a bakery and an ice cream shop just a minutes walk from a small playground that back up onto the Napanee river. A great spot to put your feet in while having lunch.
There is also a gas station and convenience store at the top of the hill.

If you need to grab a couple things there a well stocked convenience store with an LCBO outlet called Lucky Dollar in Yarker.
There is also a lovely mural on the ride of a building that was created by local artists Hans and Carolyn from Bon Eco design.
You will also pass under an old train bridge as you enter the village from the north, this bridge is now a pedestrian trail and can be accessed on the north side near an old church that is now a private residence. There is also a playground along the river in the village as well.

Lennox and Addington County Road 41This is an amazing conservation area just north west of Tamworth. There are clearly marked trails, multiple lakes, huge boulders cleared by glaciers revealing the Canadian shield, and beautiful views. There is access to swim right at the parking lot. A good spot to bring a kayak or canoe as well.
It is a very nearby and easy to walk short loop trail that is great for kids and pets.

A beautiful provincial park that is available to visit in the day that has hiking, swimming, and canoe and kayak rentals (that include life jackets) to allow you to paddle up to a collection of indigenous pictographs located on the cliff face in Mazinaw lake.

If you are fond of the night sky a stop by The Dark Sky Viewing Area is a great place to spend the evening. There are regular laser guided tours and gatherings happening there on the weekends.
