First StreetOur kids love painting a piece of pottery and seeing how it turns out. It’s a nice inside activity in the village to break the day up.
I recommend doing this early in your visit because it takes a few days before you can pick up your finished piece.

Take a break on our garden bench swings situated in the middle of 1000+ blooming English lavender.
Relax in our Muskoka chairs situated throughout the lavender fields.
Take a stroll through our winding relaxation path which guides you through our many sunflowers* and wildflower field containing over 27 different wildflower species.
Take as many photos as you would like (don't forget to tag @southbayfields). Professional photographers, please see our Photography page for arranging private client shoots.
Visit our open air shop (yes, that is a fancy way of saying tent) with all of our lavender goodies available for purchase. In addition to our products, you can also purchase fresh lavender and sunflower bundles harvested the morning of your visit.
Learn about growing, harvesting and distilling lavender from one of our friendly staff.
Enjoy the local wildlife (okay, its just the chickens) as they live their happiest free-range lives all over our property."

The Georgian Trail runs some 34 kms along the magnificent southern shore of Georgian Bay between Collingwood and Meaford. The trail features a hard-packed, granular surface ideal for walkers, joggers, cyclists, cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
There are regular distance markers along the Trail and shady rest spots with benches. Bridges across Black Ash Creek, Silver Creek, Indian Brook, the Beaver River and Workman Creek. You will enjoy varied landscape from wilderness, rural to urban, and more than 30 convenient access points. There is parking near Hwy 26 W. at Northwinds Beach, The Depot, Craigleith Provincial Park (day-pass required), Peasmarsh and Council Beaches, Thornbury and Meaford Harbours, Bayview Park and Harbourview Park in Collingwood.
You 'll find many opportunities along the Trail to stop, rest and relax with easy access to sandy beaches and conservation areas and in winter, the Georgian Trail's low grade offers easy cross-country skiing.
