Loro Ciuffenna, a small village located on the slopes of Pratomagno, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, offers art, tradition, typical products and beautiful landscapes.
The village is fully build in stone and it is one one the major attractions of the area, starting from the Old romanesque Bridge and the ancient watermill, still in working, to the beautiful square dominated by the clock tower. The city Hall is home to the museum Venturino Venturi , contemporary painter and sculptor.
Leaving the village definitely not to be missed a visit to the Church of Gropina, truly one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Tuscany and in the context of the small village of Gropina to which it belongs , will make your visit truly memorable.

Loro Ciuffenna, a small village located on the slopes of Pratomagno, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, offers art, tradition, typical products and beautiful landscapes.

Le balze dell'acqua zolfina
Le Balze area has been declared a Protected Natural Area of Local Interest. Definitely one of the most beautiful and fascinating landscapes of Valdarno: that which is believed to be the backdrop to the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. The Balze were formed, as has happened in Bryce Canyon in Utah, from sediment deposited by a lake in the Pliocene and Pleistocene, this lake was about 20 km long, occupying the current Valdarno. Over the millennia, when the lake has receded, its sediments have been subjected to a continuous action of erosion by the weather who have modeled them until assuming the fascinating shapes of now. There is a nice walking tour, Il Sentiero dell'acqua Zolfina 7,8 km
In the central square on the ground floor of the town hall, of Loro Ciuffenna, is the the Venturino Museum ( 1918-2002) which has a collection of sculptures in bronze, wood and stone by the artist born in this town. you can see more of Venturino's art in his home , can be reached on foot from the museum, where you can visit his studio, a Library and Archive.

The village itself a fantastic historical and architectural attractive, This village organized around the central square is still faces the ancient town hall which the ancient coat of arms of the Podestà and the old prisons located on the ground floor. Walking through the street you will certainly captured by the facadee of the church of San Filippo Neri dating back 1971.

In Loro Ciuffenna, not to far from the center, there is this Romanesque church of San Pietro a Gropina one of the most interesting in Valdarno . Both the external view of the Crypt and the capitals decorated with symbols inside are impressive.
