Favorite spot for the best tacos and margaritas. The tortillas are handmade, the chips are incredible and the drinks are on point. The service is also very friendly and chill. They are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner AND late night until 1am. You can get a taco at any time of the day, what’s not to love?

This place lives up to the hype! It might be hard to get in, but once you do, you'll love everything you try. Tapas-style with dishes like bone marrow, beef tartare, citrus beet salad and bread & butter. The drinks and desserts are unbelievable too. This is a great place for a date night.

This place is known for its ramen bowls. I ALWAYS go with the Paitan, which has a big 'ol slice of pork belly with half an egg, nori, fermented veggies, scallions, and the best broth I've ever had. The brussels sprouts are top notch, and the pork buns are like little clouds from heaven. Sushi is also good too, but not the star of the show for me. On cold nights, the whiskey pot is perfect. For warm evenings, try the yuzu lemonade.

The empanadas are next level. Total authentic Latin American fare, and always great service. The empanadas are stamped with labels on the top so that if you try 2-3 different flavors, there's no guessing as to which is which. And we definitely recommend trying a few flavors!

Everything here is excellent. It is certainly on the more expensive side, but worth every penny in our opinion. Spanish and French cuisine, tapas style with some large sharable dishes. This is pizza unlike any other pizza. Soft, poofy dough with light tomato sauce and delicious toppings. The spicy meat slab is a favorite, if you like heat!

Breakfast + Lunch in Portland
People come to Portland just for these potato donuts. They are dense and they are sweet. We have a favorite: chocolate sea salt. It's just different than all the others, it's a rich cake texture that is perfectly salted.

If you can get a reservation here, this is one of the best places to dine-in for breakfast/brunch. Cinnamon roll pancakes, homemade corned beef hash, huevos rancheros, there is literally something for everyone. Plus allll the boozy brunch drinks.

Really great bubble tea (what they're known for) but also impressive toast: avocado toast, nut butter toast with sliced almonds and bananas. Nitro coffee on tap. This is also a great place to get some work done in their fun window seats.

The biscuits with butter and jam are famous, and if you get there early enough then a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is a must. Scones are unbelievable, the chocolate chip cookie is topped with big chunks of sea salt, and the pies! Also lunch sandwiches too. Seltzers and tea for non-coffee drinkers. Plus their unique malted iced coffee. Like, you just have to go!

Although we do have our share of chain stores and restaurants in the Old Port, there is still a huge focus on keeping the majority of spaces for locally owned businesses. Both the local coffee and craft beer selections are extraordinary and the spirits are wonderful too. We have two kombucha brewers in town, and 5-6 options for groceries, chain and local alike. Our proximity to beaches, lighthouses, trails and islands is amazing and the ocean air so cool and refreshing. We love where we live!

Bramhall is our favorite neighborhood bar. Just 0.3 mi from us, this spot is great for catching a last minute drink with a friends. They are in a basement, but they play to it in the best way possible. Stone walls, a remarkable amount of candles, and a great selection of beers, cocktails and snacks. They also have a great patio out back complete with picnic tables and umbrellas, so you feel like you're hanging in someone's backyard.

They also have a great patio out back complete with picnic tables and umbrellas, so you feel like you're hanging in someone's backyard.
Excellent cocktails, the best in town. Really interesting flavor profiles and talented mixologists. A very hip, big city vibe with a disco ball and funky mural. Also referred to as "The Bearded Lady's Jewel Box" or just "Bearded Lady."

Farmer's Market
From May through October, this is our weekly stop for fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, meat, cheese and flowers every Saturday and/or Wednesday. We love that this is just down the street from us, and we're proud of our little city for hosting this twice weekly. As travelers ourselves, we know that many big city markets have several prepared food vendors and trucks, but that is not the case here. The focus remains primarily on the farmers themselves. There is one farm, Snell, that makes some amazing hand pies and sweet breads, but you have to get there early to snag one! Our favorite organic farmer there is Goranson Farm. We buy a CSA through them each season. But if you don't need any fresh vegetables, go for the flowers alone - they're unbelievable!
