Further away in Waterbury (20 min drive), the Prohibition Pig is worth the trip. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. They have a great beer selection, fantastic comfort food, a great atmosphere. Either make the trek out here or stop on your way out.

Waitsfield is the biggest town near Sugarbush, where you'll find everything you need from groceries to restaurants, shopping and more. The center of Waitsfield is about a 15 minute drive from the condo.

Take the "Madbus" shuttle directly to the lifts for free!
The #124 shuttle route stops right in front of the North Lynx condo association and will take you to the School House lift at the base of Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush.
On weekends/holidays, it should arrive at the condo stop every 20 mins on the 9s, starting at 8:09am (then 8:29am, 8:49am, etc.) and running until 5:29pm.
On weekdays, it stops every 40 minutes starting at 8:30am (then 9:10am, 9:50am, etc.) and runs until 5:10pm.
These times may not be exact, so we recommend getting to the stop a few minutes early.

Beware of snow and ice! (Prepare in advance)
Naturally, the roads in this area can get icy during and after storms. The Access Road is very steep and can get dicey without snow tires or chains, even in an AWD/4WD vehicle. The area directly around the condo can also get icy quickly during a storm.
Plan accordingly! Keep an eye on the weather and make sure to get your errands done before storms hit, if possible.
When leaving and heading south on rt 89, your GPS may put you on the gap road - a dirt road that goes over a mountain. We recommend avoiding this in snowy weather and heading NE on VT100 to Middlesex, getting on 89 there.

What to Pack
You will, of course, want to pack warm clothes for the winter. It can get very cold, into the negatives during January and February. Bring snow boots for getting around, and snowshoes if you have them for the snowshoe trails nearby. Microspikes can be helpful for walking on icy terrain but are not necessary.
Slippers and cozy clothes are highly recommended for inside the condo!
During the summer, bring a swimsuit for swimming in the Mad River!

Waitsfield Farmer's Market!
The Waitsfield Farmer's Market is one of the best in Vermont!
The market takes place on the Mad River Green in Waitsfield, Vermont on Saturdays from 9 to 1, from the middle of May through the middle of October.
You can find fresh produce, plant starts, fruit trees and bushes, maple, honey, flowers, seedlings, eggs, meat, cheese and other farm products. They have a large selection of crafts made in Vermont, baked goods, and prepared food.
