This is a trendy place downtown. It has a fun atmosphere yet still feels elegant enough for a date. It’s not for the budget-conscious traveler but is worth the splurge in my opinion. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet!

This is our go-to place anytime we are hungry, going out on a date night and don’t want to be disappointed by the good. My husband loves prime rib, and there really isn’t anyone in town who does it better or more consistent than the Turtle Club. It is more of a rustic setting, but we often share one of the larger cuts of meat, get an extra salad on the side and don’t feel like we broke the bank when we leave. I always enjoy the short scenic drive out of town to get there, as well.

Sightseeing
If you are in the Fairbanks area, you must go to Chena Hotsprings atleast once, especially in the winter! And don’t forget to check out the restaurant as well—on-site, fresh-grown salad year-round, and their clam chowder is delicious.

They offer many fun adventures including dog sledding, ice fishing and Aurora viewing.

Off the beaten path...This is one of Fairbanks area’s best-kept secrets...we lived here 12 years before we heard of it! Less than 1 mile hike off the road, we snowmobiled in with our small children but it is very hike/ski friendly, depending on the weather. If you do not have experience with glaciers or venturing off the beaten path, do not attempt this experience without a guide!

We hike this atleast once every year. It is the hike with the best views in the Fairbanks area, relatively short.
