On Wed nights there is singers gathering -- you can listen or join in. Sometimes they have other music or poetry reading.

Wonderful Japanese restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for many years. Nice big place with lots of choices for lunch or dinner. We love their rolls and "Ariyoshi salad".

Great jazz almost every night. Great Latin Jazz -- and alternative music scene. Have to see the performance area on the second floor. Hard to describe. Very good vibe!

A city park that was essentially reclaimed from a scrap heap and built by local sculptors -- right on the river. A great place to walk and check out local life and interesting sculpture. They have free yoga on Sat and Sun mornings from May thru Sept.

Huge park -- on Sundays you can see 15 different soccer games, cricket, baseball, etc. The remnants of the 1964 World's Fair are still there: the iconic Unisphere and those towers from Men in Black. Ice skating rink (olympic size) the Queens Zoo, Queens Museum. And the US Open is there, too.

Beautiful park with walkway by the water and view of Triboro Bridge. Lots of space to run. Also has a huge outdoor wading pool built as a WPA project.

Great huge supermarket. Has specialty foods from all over the world. Great fish market. Organic produce. Quite the Queens scene! A little longer walk from house, but has a huge parking lot if you are driving.

The museum and sculpture garden are where Noguchi had his studio. The man was a design genius as well as a master in planning. First Monday of the month is free. One of my favorite museums in all of NYC.
