The pizza is pretty good but the real reason people eat here is for the views -- the best view closest to the apartment. Be sure and sit outside in the summer. Note that the service, while friendly, can be really bad (slow, they occasionally screw up orders, etc.). But if you're patient, and go with the flow, you quickly get over it (a bottle of wine can help with that). And if the moon rises behind the City while you're sitting at their tables you'll never be the same again. Occasionally there is live music along the water and you can listen while you dine (particularly on Saturdays).

A local favorite Mexican restaurant. They have an outdoor balcony overlooking NYC, with views spanning from the George Washington Bridge to the Statute of Liberty. Not great if it is windy, but if the weather is cooperating it is a fantastic experience. They also have an incredible tequila list.

Drinks & Nightlife
This is one of our go-to local pubs. Simple decor, a bit divey, but great beer list. They have cask pulled ales. And a few TVs, dart boards, and they have big buck hunter. It's only a block from the apartment.

Fantastic german beer garden/beer house. Think Munich in Hoboken. They routinely have live music and a healthy outdoor beer garden with long wood tables. Rotisserie chicken, sausages, and a large hall where they show sporting events (both local and international, particularly football/soccer). They have a multi-page draft beer list, mostly imported from Europe.
Incredibly, lots of locals bring their kids for late-lunch/afternoon hangouts on the weekends.
