Sek'end Sun (a great, hip bar/restaurant in its own right) hosts "Stellar Brews" during daylight hours and their COFFEE is super artisanal and delicious! Also beautiful place to hang out during the day if you have a bit of work to do and want a change of environment. Highly recommend the mocha - they use chocolate from a chocolatier that only provides for them! Great group of people. Insider's tip: don't be in a hurry - it takes time to make coffee drinks this delicious!

Beautiful small park on the water seven minutes from our apartment overlooking manhattan with a changing outdoor sculpture exhibition year round. Gorgeous little place to relax, read, or enjoy the sculptures. Outdoor yoga and films in the summer as well!

Arts & Culture
Brilliant, state of the art museum dedicated to filmmaking, located just a ten minute walk from the apartment, and across from the famous Kaufman Studios. They have fantastic screenings and exhibitions, and a wonderful interactive floor where you get to go into little rooms and set score to picture, try your hand at "looping," and better understand the magic of the movies!

Lovely small indie bookshop five minutes from the house. Great gifts and some local souvenirs, but mostly just a fantastic bookshop where you're sure to find something fabulous to take on the subway with you.

Wonderful small yoga studio a six minute walk from the apartment. Most classes are just $8 (includes matt rental), and there are two classes a day that are donation based pay-what-you-wish! (the 7am and 2pm usually, but check the schedule). Teachers vary but it is always a lovely, grounding experience - and sometimes transcendent. Fantastic late night candle lit classes avail.

Getting Around
Closest subway station - its the N and W line. Fifteen minutes straight to Times Square! Stops throughout Manhattan and then heads into Brooklyn - runs 24 hours a day.
