St. Petersburg, often referred to as St. Pete, is located directly west of Tampa, about 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport. Referred to as the “Sunshine City,” St. Pete averages 361 days of sun and a comfortable average temperature of 73 degrees. The city holds a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive days of sun, lasting 768 days. In addition to our wonderful weather, you can enjoy 44 miles of shoreline along Tampa Bay, Boca Ciega Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and other waterways.
The area is not only proudly recognized for world-renowned beaches, we also boast nationally recognized performances, a vibrant arts community, award-winning golf courses, a booming craft brewery scene, and a lively downtown with great restaurants and night life. The Dali Museum is located on the waterfront of Tampa Bay in the heart of downtown St. Pete.

It draws heavy influence from the Scottish, Irish, African and Spanish cultures, but few recipes were ever recorded. We pored through regional vintage cookbooks and sought oral pioneer histories from multi-generational Florida Crackers to garner inspiration and unique insight into Florida’s “back woods” culture of the time.
