14/15th 2019 April Pee Mai (Lao Buddhist New Year celebrations in town) ....you can get wet! 1.Exploring the historical town walking around the many Buddhist Temples and to experience the very special atmosphere. Don’t miss Wat Xieng Thong! 2.6am every day Monk’s Alms Giving ceremony in the streets e.f. in front of Sokdee Residence. Out oft he house turn left 3.Papai Temple at 6pm every day (3 min Walk from the House) Join the Buddha praying followed by meditation. You can join and leave anytime. 4.Pak Ou cave (Buddha Cave) 1,5 hrs by boat or by Tuk Tuk (30 min) 5.Kuang Si Waterfalls 30 min by Tuk Tuk 6.Elephant camp near Luang Prabang On the way to Kuang Si Waterfalls 7.Luang Prabang Buffalo Farm (they make Cheese, Yoghurt, Ice cream etc.) On the way to Kuang Si Waterfalls 8.Living Land, Ban Pong Van, go by Tuk Tuk) 15 min Attractive traditional rice planting – harvesting, Lunch and Buffalo experience. 9.Nam Dong Park restaurants and adventures and playgrounds for Children 10.River beach at river view point restaurant, nice for kids (end of peninsula at the confluence of Mekong and Nam Khan River) 10 min walk from the house. 11.Excursion to he Paper village and Handicraft ( Ban Sang Khong Village) Cross the bamboo bridge on the end of peninsula, from there 1 km walk. 12.Pottery Village (Ban Chean Village) Cross the Mekong by the ferry then 30 min drive by Motorbike (ask at Sokdee Residence for renting Motorbikes) 13.Story telling in the peninsula. Out of the house turn two times left and you will see the sign on your left after a while. 14.Films about old Luang Prabang and Elephant Story At Big Tree Café in the 1st floor Gallery or at Victoria palace on the end oft he peninsula Mekong side. 15.Lao Cocking Class at Tamarind (Tamarind Restaurant Nam Khan Road) recommended.
