1401 Electric AveThere is an amazing waterfall to start this easy hiking trail that quickly gives you the true feel of the Pacific Northwest - huge trees, winding dirt paths, rushing river, ferns and rocks - without taking your entire day or energy away from the rest of what you want to do.
This is our family favorite! A quick, easy to moderate hike of about 30-60 minutes down to an amazing soft sand beach with huge rock formations. Tons of climbing, sunning and exploring opportunities.

Teddy Bear Cove - Chuckanut Mountain Trails
1467 Chuckanut DrThis is our family favorite! A quick, easy to moderate hike of about 30-60 minutes down to an amazing soft sand beach with huge rock formations. Tons of climbing, sunning and exploring opportunities.
This is my favorite walk in Bellingham. It's flat, gravel until mile 2-ish and has the most stunning views of Lake Whatcom. You'll feel as if you're in northern Italy. Good history is written up in posted placards at the start of the trail. Makes a great, flat run at 6 miles total but when we're lazy with the kids we often just do the first mile to the waterfall, visit and play at the large sandy beach then head back.

You have to take the 15 minute drive south on I5 to Fairhaven. When you get off the freeway turn right. Follow the road down and it turns right onto the downtown shopping district. Fun restaurants, art studios, pottery stores, clothing stores, a fantastic toy store and much more.

You can hear the train roll by, hear the ocean crash and yet be in the most relaxing and glorious spa ever. Trust me. It's really good.

We love Friday night movie night and when there's a clean, comfortable theatre with great selections just 6 minutes from home, why not? We like to go to Scotty Brown's for dinner after the movie which is one block away.
