Parks & Nature
Well worth the hike up to the top of the extinct volcano. Great views of Auckland. Can spend a day wondering the trails and seeing the local wildlife. Birds and penguins nest on the island and if your lucky you can see some penguins in their nests. Hard on the shoes so make sure you have good shoes that you can hike in. A short ferry trip from down town Auckland.
