Kotor is great for a day trip to explore the old city. Reachable in 30 minutes by car and totally worth a visit. If you’re there without a car, there are also busses going from Bijela.

Tivat is very close to Bijela and can be reached by using the ferry. The most impressive part to visit is Porto Montenegro which offers a stunning promenade with lots of pretty yachts. It has a lot of cafés, bars and restaurants to offer. During summer times you can also use a taxi boat which brings you to Porto Montenegro for 2 hours and costs 5€ (return ticket).

Dubrovnik might be one of the most visited cities in this area in the recent years. It’s in Croatia right across the boarder and it takes you about an hour (+/- based on time spent at the boarder) to reach it.

If you’ve never been in Bosnia & Herzegowina then Trebinje is a perfect 1 day visit. It offers you great restaurants, bars and cafés and since the local curreny is BAM almost everything is cheaper there.

Perast is a nice short trip close to Bijela to explore the area a bit and go for a nice restaurant. It’s small but very cute and recommended.

Bijela has a nice promenade next to the beach which has multiple cafés and restaurants. The beaches are relatively small but at the same time less people are there. During summer time a lot of people are walking or running on this promenade and for people enjoying longer walks the distance from Bijela to it’s last point on the promenade is about 4.5 km long.

If you’re looking for a busier neighborhood close by to Bijela then consider going to Baosici. It’s around 5 min away by car and has lots of restaurants. During the day you can also go to the beach there. Reachable also by taxi from Bijela (around 3€).

My favorite restaurant in Bijela! For those working remotely, it has power sockets on the terrace. Great pizza and drinks available and directly at the beach in Bijela. It takes you around 10 minutes by foot from the apartment.

Fresh oysters directly fished out of the sea. Oysters, wine and scampi. There is no fresher place to get it and so close to Bijela! You can walk there along the promenade next to the water and it’s reachable in about 20 min by foot (or 3 min by car).
