Welcome! 17 Lilli Pilli Road

Neighbourhoods

Beautiful Lilli Pilli beach is about 300 metres' walk away. It is a charming, sandy beach ideal for families and people of all ages. Turn right at the top of the shared driveway (picture) and walk along Lilli Pilli road down to the end. Turn right at the Eurobodalla Council signpost onto the little track through the bushland. There is a set of wooden stairs at the end of the track. The area is zoned for environmental protection. There are pockets of natural bushland allowing for access by native fauna (goanna, possums, bandicoots, and - yes - snakes) to the creeks on this headland - at Halo's Creek to the south-east, Circuit beach to the north. The predominant type of forest here is Murramarang Lowlands Forest and Batemans Bay Cycad Forest, with some areas of Southern Lowland Wet Forest along creek beds. A characteristic of the local forest are the large cycads or burrawangs (Macrozamia communis) under the spotted gums (Corymbia maculata), which can grow up to 60 metres high. Mature burrawangs can be up to 120 years old.

Safe swimming

Lilli Pilli is our pick of the 83 beaches along the Eurobodalla coast! To walk there, turn right at the top of the shared driveway and walk along Lilli Pilli Road down to the end. Turn right at the Council signpost and follow the little track through the bushland. Lilli Pilli Beach is not patrolled. (Malua Bay Beach to the south is patrolled 7 days a week during summer school holidays, and on weekends and public holidays between October and April. Surf Beach, to the north, is patrolled 7 days a week during summer school holidays, but the waves and currents tend to be stronger at both beaches.) N.B. If you first go down to Lilli Pilli Beach at high tide, be aware of some submerged rocks close to the shoreline at the northern end of the beach, opposite to the wooden stairs. It’s best to stay in the middle or at the southern end until the tide goes out and you can note where the rocks are. If in doubt, ask a friendly local…

Directions on how to find us

Travelling south through Batemans Bay, turn left at the second set of traffic lights onto Beach Road. Follow Beach Road to the intersection just before Batehaven (fourth set of traffic lights). At this intersection, follow the sign for Malua Bay and proceed along George Bass Drive. We are half-way between Surf Beach and Malua Bay. Turn left into Lilli Pilli Road. You will see # 17 on your right. There is a painting of dolphins and whales on the front fence. Turn right into the shared driveway immediately after the fence, and veer right into the first private driveway after only 10 metres.
