Along with Aysgarth Falls, a great spot to visit. There are walks close by, it's a beautiful sight, and which film lovers will recognise the scene from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. There are some fantastic local pubs too.

You can walk from Brompton Lakes to Easby or Richmond along footpaths either side of the river.
