Welcome to Bronllan Rural Accommodation. As superhosts we're delighted to offer accommodation for singletons, couples, friends and families who want to travel independently whilst enjoying Ceredigion's delights and other parts of Wales. THIS IS 1 OF 2 spaces listed under 'Boutique Garden Chalet, Ceredigion' as no.1 or 2. They may be booked TOGETHER. You will find these modern chalets surrounded by countryside and Cambrian mountains on your doorstep. Coffee and tea making facilities are provided.
PET POLICY Here at Bronllan Rural Accommodation we do not ourselves own a dog but we are dog friendly. However, we have lots of guests stay with us who are NOT pet owners. We ask the following of dog owners: Please bring a suitable bed for your pet as dogs must NOT BE ALLOWED SO SIT ON THE BEDS OR FURNITURE! Please ensure you pick up all dog mess immediately; it can be tricky if you come across something when mowing the lawns. Along with this it is imperative that the interests of all our guests are taken into account to ensure everybody enjoys themselves when wishing to use the outside space. Should any accidents happen inside the chalet please inform us immediately and we will provide cleaning materials if you do not have anything suitable; stains may be harder to remove if left. If your dog is of a nervous disposition, or over friendly as we know some can be, please keep it on a lead for the benefit of other guests. Thank you for your co-operation. You'll find some crazy chicks in the garden where we are growing our own fruit and veg. DIRECTIONS. As we are quite rural using a sat nav may not always bring you directly to our door therefore here are some directions to help your journey. You may like to print them off in case you lose mobile signal in our location. The main house is called Bronllan. If you are coming from Aberystwyth, which is directly 13 miles from us, drive until you see the sign for Ystrad Meurig. On your right you will see a bungalow back off the road and the row of buildings on your right; just at the end of those buildings, which are our Airbnb listings, there is a five bar gate and you can drive into the property there. If coming from Devils Bridge follow the signs for the village of Pontrydfendigaid. When you reach the village the village hall and playing field will be in front of you; at the junction turn right. We are just two miles away so keep driving until you see the sign for Ystrad Meurig. As you come into the village the church will be on your right and the main house is in front of you with the green door and egg house. As you look at the house down the right hand side is the main gate where you can drive into the property.
The nearest local shop is in Pontrhydfendigaid (locally known as Bont) and this is open 7am -7pm Monday to Friday, 7am - 2pm Saturday and 8am - 1pm Sunday. In Tregaron the Spar is open 8am - 11pm 7 days a week. The Black Lion pub in Pontrhydfendigaid, 2 miles toward Tregaron, is a great place for an evening meal with friendly staff and dogs are welcome in the bar area. In Pontrhydfendigaid you will find the ruins of the Strata Florida Abbey. 8 miles from us is Tregaron where there are a number of places to eat including the Y Talbot pub/hotel and an Indian restaurant.

My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. In a lovely little village near Aberystwyth with a pub and a hearty village shop a short drive away. Perfect for cyclists, hill walkers, star gazers and wild swimmers. Mae fy lle yn dda ar gyfer cyplau a bobl sy'n teithio ar ei hunan. Pentref bach hyfryd ger Aberystwyth, efo siop pentref a tafarn yn weddol agos. Perffaith ar gyfer beicio, cerddwyr, nofwyr wyllt a syllu ar y nefoedd.
It's a small, semi detached cottage with a wood burning stove and two bedrooms. (one single bed and one double). The cottage has steep stairs, a woodburning stove and stone flag floors so I don't recommend it to young families. A characterful, cosy retreat. This is an old Welsh cottage, it is heated by the wood burning stove with radiators so you'll need to light this to heat the house - once stove is lit house gets nice and snug, I recommend bringing big socks and a cosy jumper to make the most of your stay, especially in the autumn and winter months. Bwthyn bach 'semi' efo stôf llosgi coed a dau ystafell wely. (un sengl, un dwbl). Mae'n ganddo grisiau serth, stôf a llawr lech felly nid ydw i'n argymell ar gyfer teuluoedd gyda plant bach. Gwresogir gan y stôf llosgi coed a rheiddiaduron - mae angen cynnal y stôf i gwresogi'r tŷ. Mae'n digon clyd pan mae'r stôf wedi cynnal. Mae'n werth dod a dillad cynnes (siwmper an hosannau trwchus) i fod yn cyfforddus - yn enwedig yn y gaeaf a'r hydref.
it's just up the hill from the famous Hafod estate and over the hill from ancient Strata Florida. There are loads of nice walking and cycling routes nearby, and Cwtch cafe down the road bakes lovely cakes.

Ysbyty Ystwyth, Wales, Egyesült Királyság

Rural, remote, rustic but peaceful cottage set down its own track through field & 2 gates, & over small stream. Property is on 3 levels, steps and floors are uneven, would not be suitable for very young children or for anyone with mobility problems. Attached cottage is occupied by local family who will be able to offer help during your stay. Local amenities are few and far between. There is a local pub in the village, which serves food Friday & Saturday evenings, plus small shop opposite pub.
Water is well fed, although we drink it would recommend you drink bottled water. Please note in exceptional prolonged dry spells the well could dry up, whilst this is unusual this did happen last summer. On the plus side it will mean you would be having lovely weather. Track is passable by most vehicles however would not be suitable for cars with low ground clearance. Field is sometimes occupied with livestock as you would expect. Well behaved dog welcome. Vodafone mobile signal weak, EE & O2 seem to be good. No WiFi Barbeque in shed Washing machine available in kitchen. Television Vast selection of board games and books Digital radio Electric heating in addition to wood burner.
Within actual village, the Tafarnybont pub serves food most Friday and Saturday evenings. There is a small shop within old garage opposite shop which sales basics and local produce. There is a bus which runs through the main road in village to Aberystwyth, Tregaron and I believe Lampeter. Small market town, Tregaron is approx. 8 miles away, you will find local butchers, Spar grocery store, pharmacy etc here. Along with The Talbot Inn, café and takeaway venues. Plus not to mention Rhiannon welsh gold and gift shop.

This lovely detached farmhouse, located on a working sheep and dairy farm, is marked on an Ordnance Survey map dating back to 1834 but probably dates back further. Developed and extended in the early 1900s it’s a traditional farmstead that has now been renovated and restored and provides characterful holiday accommodation. Accessed via a long farm drive, you arrive on to the farmyard, with only very occasional farm vehicles passing through, and the house is in front of you. Inside there are beams, traditional cottage style doors, original tiled floors and a brick fireplace housing the lovely wood burner in the living room. The owners have carefully decorated, furnished and accessorised the farmhouse in keeping with a contemporary country feel. You get a real sense of cosiness when you walk through the door, but there’s plenty of space for families or friends to spread out. The country kitchen has a breakfast table and there’s also a separate dining room for more formal affairs. In addition to the comfortable living room there’s a snug across the hallway complete with a day bed, books, toys and games; ideal for youngsters to chill out in. There’s a ground floor toilet and upstairs a family bathroom shared between a twin bedroom and double room. The master bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. Outside there’s a rear lawned cottage garden and to the front there are views over the fields and countryside. Tregaron was once an important place for gathering livestock for the farms to take their animals across the mountains and along ancient tracks to the markets in England. The dramatic Abergwesyn mountain road was originally the first stage of the farmer’s route. Today Tregaron is a centre for ’Trotian’, horse trotting and carriage racing, and the annual summer event attracts competitors from all over the UK and Ireland. It is also home to the Welsh Gold Centre which sells Celtic inspired designs. The town has all the amenities you will need including an inn and restaurant, renowned in the area. Also close by to Pengraig and just outside the town you can explore the Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, where you can walk through the vast wetlands and bogs on waymarked boardwalks and visit the large observation centre where you can have a stunning view of the landscape and wildlife. If you’re bringing your bikes, cyclists will love the easy access to a 6km section of the Ystwyth Trail. Make sure you find time to visit Strata Florida, preserved Middle Age ruins of a Cistercian monastery and church. Whether you would like to learn about the history and stories, explore the countryside, or take a moment for quiet reflection and inspiration, there is plenty to do. Slightly further afield, but still extremely easy to visit for a day out, you can explore the delights of coastal Ceredigion, including 60 miles of coastal path, sandy beaches, quiet coves and pretty seaside towns including Aberaeron, New Quay and Aberystwyth. Pengraig is ready to welcome you, what are you waiting for? Beach 15 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Free WiFi

The West Wing at Plas Wenallt The West Wing is an annex of Plas Wenallt, once a Georgian vicarage and is a listed building. It is the home of your hosts Trina and Phil Morgan. It is independent to the main building, with a separate entrance and plenty of room for parking. Guests are welcome to enjoy the garden. A 'help yourself' continental breakfast is included, consisting of home-made sourdough bread, butter, a selection of home-made preserves, muesli, yogurt, tea and coffee.
It is ideal for a couple wanting to get away from it all or for travellers passing through. Babies are welcome - we can provide a cot. However the steep steps mean that prior discussion with us is advisable when booking with children. The house lies over the hill from the village of Llanafan and a short step from the river Ystwyth. Devil's Bridge, Strata Florida Abbey and the small town of Tregaron are all nearby. Many guests stop off on their way to Snowdonia. The seaside university town of Aberystwyth is 15 minutes away. The flat has central-heating from a wood-pellet boiler and a "living flame" electric fire. It has a bedroom with a double bed (convertible to two singles), a living room with sofabed, a kitchen and a shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and lots of cooking utensils . A small breakfast table allows you to sip your coffee in the morning and spy on the neighbours – the sheep! Cooking essentials - tea, coffee, flour, salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegar, etc. - are all provided. If you run out of anything, Trina and Phil are just a knock away (but do bear in mind that shops are a 15-minute drive away.) Mobile coverage is very poor and the wifi signal is sometimes not strong and is only available at the sitting room window .
The Flat is situated in Trawscoed which is located 8 miles from Aberystwyth. The village of Llanafan is close to Plas Wenallt, just a 15-minute walk through the farm yard up the hill. Talfan, an old hill fort, overlooks the village from which you can catch a glimpse of the sea in the distance. The Hafod Estate is close by, with forest walks and restored gardens set within the picturesque landscape created by Thomas Johnes in the eighteenth century. Entry is free of charge and although the house is now sadly gone it is still a very special place where you can lose yourself for days. The river Ystwyth runs outside the house. There is a pebble beach suitable for fishing and paddling. Fishing licences are available from the village shop in Llanilar just down the road. Numerous leaflets and guides to local attractions are available for you to look at and use in the flat.

Our luxury house is set in the very quiet village of Llanafan, 10 miles out of Aberystwyth. This large family home boasts a Hot Tub for a truly relaxing holiday. Dogs are welcome too so you can enjoy some of the most stunning scenery in mid Wales. With 5 bedrooms you can bring friends and family for that special occasion. This home from home accommodation is fully centrally heated with all the mod cons! Cyclists, walkers and 'dark skies' enthusiasts will love this place...
This is a large house with big rooms so there is plenty of space for everyone. WiFi at the moment is slow and not good for streaming but it is sufficient for texting and phone calls. We are working on improving this within the next few months by having a mast installed.
Although Wales is known for its rain, it doesn't always rain here and was the hottest place recorded in Great Britain just a few weeks ago! This is a haven of wildlife, beautiful scenery and great walks. There are a wide variety of restaurants and local pubs in and around Llanafan and the surrounding villages. With Devils Bridge on the doorstep to explore and a good locally sourced meal in the Hafod Hotel afterwards. The little train goes from here right down into Aberystwyth for an excellent train journey you won't forget. Or visit Nant Yr Arian and see the Red Kites feeding...not your thing then wander along the beach in Aberystwyth, Aberaeron or Newquay and have fish and chips on the promenade. With some of the cleanest seas around Great Britain this part of Wales offers some lovely family beach time too.

Get away from it all in our tastefully renovated cottage, amidst peaceful surroundings, views and wildlife, eg red kites. Ideal for bird watchers, walkers, cyclists, or anyone exploring the area, or just wanting a quiet break. Guests have a private room with their own bathroom, and tea/coffee-making facilities, biscuits, and herbal teas. Breakfast included, a choice of a full cooked breakfast or continental-style - see below for more details. Discount available for 2 nights or more - see below.
Guests have a good-sized room, with exposed stone features, and real oak floors, with private en-suite bathroom, with walk-in shower. There are twin beds, but these can be arranged as separate twin beds, or together to form a double. Breakfast: either full cooked breakfast with local bacon and sausages, (or vegetarian option available); or continental with cereals, home-made bread and home-made marmalade and jam. We are in a very quiet situation, with views out to the Cambrian mountains, yet located about 1 mile from the A485 Aberystwyth to Tregaron road, and an easy drive to Aberystwyth, Lampeter, and the picturesque harbour town of Aberaeron. We are in the middle of red-kite country, with buzzards, kites and owls over our land, and a huge gathering of kites over the village, where they are fed daily. As mentioned above, the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists - there are many footpaths and cycle routes either in our immediate area, or at a short distance; we are within reach of the Coastal Path, and Lon Cambria and Lon Teifi cycle routes. We have local O.S. and Explorer maps, and walking guides, which our guests are welcome to use to plan cycle rides or walks. There is no light pollution, so on a clear night the stars are fantastically clear.
The area is typically Welsh countryside, small lanes, sheep dotted about the fields, overlooked by mountains. Tregaron, with pubs, cafes and take-aways, 4-5 miles. There is a pub in Bronnant, 2-3 miles away, serving meals. Lampeter and Aberystwyth are both about 15 miles, and we are only about 10 miles from the coast, and Aberaeron. Local attractions include Devil's Bridge with waterfalls and Hinterland connections, Vale of Rheidol steam railway, Hafod estate with walks and waterfalls and Llanachaeron National Trust property. We are only 3-4 miles from the nature reserve at Tregaron bog/ Cors Caron.

Professional photography coming soon! Situated on the edge of the Ystwyth Valley, with acres of walks, streams and waterfalls all on your doorstep, Wisteria Cottage immerses you in the heart of rural west Wales. With natural beauty all around you, you’ll be able to appreciate why so many television series have chosen this landscape as their backdrop. The main property itself dates back to the 1800s, and was the local surgeon’s house until the mid-1950s. Wisteria Cottage was once the stable and hayloft, and is now a delightfully converted detached holiday cottage with lots of contemporary comforts like a wood burning stove in the spacious living room and a hot tub outside. The owners live nearby and have gone to every effort to make you feel at home, with two Galaxy tablets and a subscription to the Times newspaper and Readily, giving you access to over 2,000 magazines. You can enjoy your own private patio area or wander into the owners’ well-kept garden and relax on the benches. This holiday at a glance Sleeps four guests. Two king size bedrooms. Two en-suite shower rooms. Wood burner. Enclosed garden with patio. Hot tub. WiFi. Children of all ages welcome. Three well-behaved dogs welcome. Minimum three night stay. Additional features Electric range cooker. Combined fridge/freezer. Microwave. Dishwasher. Nespresso machine. Washing machine. Sky TV with Netflix and DVD player. Freeview TVs in bedrooms. CD player. Digital radio. Cot, highchair and stair gate available on request. Garden furniture. Two steamer chairs available in summer. Barbecue. Attractions and nearby amenities Go back in time at Aberaeron, a delightful Georgian fishing port where you’ll find lots of elegant houses, independent shops and a craft centre. You can take a boat trip from here to explore Cardigan Bay from the water. Aberystwyth’s seafront makes a grand statement, with a lovely sweeping curve and a large beach to enjoy. A stroll along the 2km-long promenade takes you from the marina up to Constitution Hill and the camera obscura. On the first and third Saturday of every month there’s a bustling farmers’ market in town. If you ever saw the TV series The Prisoner, you’ll recognise Portmeirion. This quirky and unique village was the brainchild of one man, Clough Williams-Ellis, and is now one of Wales’ leading tourist attractions. Why not take a guided walking tour? A stay at Wisteria Cottage puts you amongst some lovely gardens, not to mention acres of woodland and country walks to enjoy. But if you want to see more gardens, we recommend Aberglasney. The gardens here featured in the BBC series “A Garden Lost in Time” and there are 10 acres of magnificent vistas, plants and beds to explore. Picture a beach and the chances are you’ll be thinking of something like Penbryn. The beach here is almost one mile of golden sands, with a café and a shop too. If you’d like to get a bit more active on the water, you can try windsurfing, hire dinghies or paddleboards and more at Cardigan Bay Watersports. If you’re looking for a great day out, a journey north to Snowdonia takes you to Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you can visit a unique slate mine and see what it was like to be a Victorian miner. Or closer to home you’ll find Llanerchaeron, an elegant Georgian villa with a walled garden and traditional working farm. For additional inspiration on what to do within the area, please click here.

Welcome to Dyffryn Haidd which means “Barley Valley” in English. Llanafan is a small village in Ceredigion, Wales. Llanafan is situated in a beautiful rural location north of the River Ystwyth, around ten miles south east of Aberystwyth and eight miles north of Tregaron. Llanafan has a church, St Afan's Church; a chapel; a village hall; a Women’s Institute Hall. WiFi at the moment is slow and not good for streaming but sufficient for texting and phone calls. We are working on improving asap.
Dyffryn Haidd is a 5 star accommodation fully equipped with all home comforts to make your holiday as pleasurable as possible. It also has a fabulous hot tub, table tennis, darts and BBQ along with sun loungers etc. The house is located in a wonderful area for walking and cycling.
A village full of character.

The building has a fascinating history starting life as a small hotel in the 1880s changing to a grocery shop/post office until the business closed in the 1990s. The commercial section of the premises has been sympathetically converted into spacious living accommodation on three levels (only two included). This area of Midwales is well suited to "interest groups" holidays with first class facilities for cycling, bird watching, walking and fishing on the door steps.
The only thing about this place is that you are not short of space.
The Cors Caron nature reserve is at the back of the house suitable for walking has a beautiful board walk section. Also has a viewing room providing peace and tranquility just the swans passing in the river. There are three pubs in the village a couple of miles away.Fishing is available in the Teifi Pool and permit is available in the pub. Aberystwyth is the main shopping area and Tesco andAsda provide home delivery.

We have one double bedroom & one twin room available. Guests, one or two per room, are charged per room. The large bathroom has both shower & bath and is shared by guests. The garden overlooks fields surrounded by most beautiful mountain scenery.
The house is very peaceful on a quiet road to the nearby Strata Florida Abbey - a very pleasant walk. Each room is furnished with a mixture of old and new furniture. (All the beds are new.) Wifi is available throughout the house. We have tried to give each room a different feel by adding artifacts from our visits to Marrakesh and France. All round the house are our own paintings of contemporary style landscapes inspired by the different places where we have lived before moving to Wales, as well as paintings by other artist friends. We are both artists and photographers, (Joan was the Head of the Creative Arts Faculty at Erith School, and Head of Art, teaching Art and Photography to A level at Dover Girls Grammar School and is a member of the Gateway Camera Club), so have two studios at the top of the house and a summer house studio in the garden. If you would like to do some painting, patchwork or art textiles, or go out on photography trips while staying with us, please let us know at the time of booking. The house is ideal for a sewing, painting, or photography retreat, or just to relax and enjoy walking or cycling in the countryside. The area is also great for more vigorous cycling and walking in the nearby hills, or for driving through the beautiful mountains and valleys. In the village are two good pubs which both serve food, the Black Lion Hotel especially serves delicious weekend and evening meals out of season, and lunches too in summer. There is a well stocked shop and P.O., and a hairdresser. In nearby Tregaron there are more shops and the Talbot Inn. We are half an hour from the seaside town of Aberystwyth, a lovely drive through gorgeous countryside, where there is the fantastic Arts Centre, a cinema, museum and many interesting shops, as well as a great promenade.
Wow, the countryside around here is amazing, (did you see us on the BBC's 'Home away from Home', series 2, programme 15?), whether you're just driving through on the way to Devil's Bridge Waterfalls, going to the Red Kite Feeding centre, walking through the Cors Caron ancient peat bog wildlife area, or visiting the University town of Lampeter, the views will thrill you. Aberearon is a lovely little town on the coast with colourful Georgian terraces and houses overlooking the harbour. Lots of individual shops and restaurants there too. Carry on down the coast towards Newquay and you will discover little villages down winding roads leading to the sea with beautiful coves and beaches. Pubs are great places for food and getting to know the locals and visitors alike and there are some beautiful country houses, like the Nanteos Mansion on the Aberystwth road, where you can treat yourself to lunch, afternoon tea or a superb evening meal. The Arts Centre at Aberystwyth University has a very varied programme of live events as well as a cinema and several exhibition spaces...not to mention the wonderful wholefood cafe there. There is also the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway which runs all year from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge waterfalls. Our house is in a central position for visiting the wonderful castles and gardens of Wales, and of course, the Snowdonia National Park.
