You don't need a four wheel drive, the lane is located right off a black top road in the woods of East Dover, VT. No homes in sight - just nature - you'll hear the birds singing in the morning and the owls hooting at night.
Previous guests taught me the word "glamping" short for glamorized camping - and that is a perfect way to describe the uniqueness of the Ice Pond Camp!
This rental is a rustic, with limited electric & no running water, small cottage, a portion of which began it's life in 1940's as a typical New England, then called "camp". It is a lovely get-a-way spot surrounded by woods, yet just off a well traveled road! Airbnb classifies it as a Tiny house, under 400 sq. feet. This cottage is 16 x 20 with a large sleeping loft acessed by stairs. (No ladder!) There is an attached room for storage of your bulky items.
The Ice Pond Camp is bright and cheery in the daytime; at night there is no better place to enjoy the stars, campfire or whatever you wish. No homes around, no streetlights... very peaceful!
Tucked just a few minutes from West Dover, home of Mount Snow and the many activities the Mount Snow region and beautiful Deerfield Valley provide. Plenty of shopping, eating and activities in the quaint town of Wilmington, just 10 minutes away and bustling eccentric artsy town of Brattleboro - a 25 minute drive.
WHile at the camp you can enjoy hiking the brooks or endless woods, the birds and beautiful country side. Take a stroll down the road to the town's old time post office, enjoy trails and waterfalls, lakes and state parks.
