A stay at Serenity (#236) is everything the word envisions - peaceful, sunny days watching the waves lapping on the beach and yachts sailing by.....all from the privacy and comfort of your own condo.
**Please note that there is renovation and construction in Long Bay, the tennis courts and pool below Serenity are currently out of use and in disrepair**
(we have a separate listing for "Serenity" to be rented as a two bedroom unit)
The Villas of Long Bay are a collection of attractive, free-standing villas and condos nestled into the slopes of Long Bay, West End. The fabulous North-facing views encompass Jost Van Dyke, Little Jost, Sandy Cay and Green Cay. Formerly known as Long Bay Beach Resort, the entire development is surrounded by well-established, bright, tropical landscaping and bordered by the mile long white sand beach.....your property is just a few minutes' walk from the sand and turquoise water. While almost identical in design and layout, the interiors of these privately-owned villas have all been individualised and all have ocean views due to their staggered positioning on the hillside. We offer a selection of properties ranging from one bedroom to 3 bedrooms, which can be rented as individual units or as entire villas - there are internal stairs that can link them together or remain locked. With comfortable king-sized beds, AC, refrigerators, wifi and Dish Network in all units, you have all the comforts of home - but you're in the beautiful BVI!! These properties offer great value for anyone looking for a peaceful beachside holiday!
Positioned between two famous beaches, Long Bay is in itself a treasure - with a mile of soft, white sand there's a quiet spot for everyone - on a calm day snorkel out to Pelican Point; when the swell is up body-surf or boogie-board the waves to the shore; venture along Nature Boy's trail through the sea-grape trees to Belmont Salt pond where you may be lucky enough to see the flamingos! Or simply walk off some of those frozen cocktails!
Smugglers Cove is the next bay to the west - famed for it's awesome snorkelling and tranquil shore, it may no longer be a secret but it is "off the beaten track" enough that it remains pretty uncrowded. Just over the hill to the east is Apple Bay, a top destination for well-travelled surfers.
*We highly recommend that you take out travel/cancellation insurance*
Serenity is located in Long Bay, West End where many of the rental villas have been built so we have a great selection of restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes drive of the villa.
DINING: Tropical Fusion on the beach in Long Bay (4 min walk), Sebastians on the Beach (breakfast lunch and dinner), Tramonti (on the beach in Apple Bay), The Sugar Mill for fine dining in a beautiful historical setting (Apple Bay), Da Coal Pot (on the waterfront in Carrot Bay with large selection of classic West Indian dishes), Bananakeet (top of Windy Hill for the best sunset views and fabulous food), Stoutt's Lookout (top of Windy Hill) for great views and very informal BBQ etc, Da Best Cup at Soper's Hole for awesome breakfasts. Bustling Cane Garden Bay with it's selection of restaurants, bars and live music, is just a 15 minute drive.
GROCERIES & ATTRACTIONS: C&D supermarket convenience store is just over Zion Hill (less than 10 minutes drive) and we look forward to the re-opening of Soper's Hill marina (10 min drive) *NO OPENING DATE SCHEDULED AS YET* which will again offer a grocery store, dive shop, days charter boats and water toy rentals. Sage Mountain is a 20 minute drive and offers beautiful National Park trails at a slightly cooler temperature due to the elevation and shade of the rainforest-like terrain.
BEACHES: Long Bay Beach is 1 mile long of white sand - perfect for walking off the cocktails and coconut shrimp or conch fritters! There are certain areas with a sandy bottom that are best for swimming and some areas that have more coral surface, we will point you in the right direction. Pelican Point is a large rock protruding from the water in the middle of Long Bay, great for snorkeling out to on calm days.
Apple Bay (3 min drive to East) offers world class surfing when the conditions are right.
Smugglers Cove (7 mins drive to the West) is a protected spot that usually offers calm waters - perfect for the less energetic among us and perfect for snorkeling the coral reefs where you can spot all kinds of sea-life - I have seen since Irma a selection of colorful small fish including angel fish etc, small octopus, turtles and puffer fish. The lovely Patricia has a tent where she serves great BBQ and cold drinks and cocktails.
(Many of our palm trees were destroyed by Irma sadly, we have a large beach umbrella for your use in areas with less shade, we also supply you with beach chairs and a cooler.)
