Hi! I am Ericka.
Thank you for checking us out. Here is the scoop about us.
We started building in El Pescadero three years ago and have finally almost “finished” in Pedrito. It feels like a victory.
The two casitas have been on Airbnb for a little while and it has been really fun. The big casa there is coming soon. And now Cerritos is ready to share. It is one of a kind for sure.
I fell in love with Baja the very first day I spent here in 2003. As a kid, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at the beach and in the water fishing with my family in Michigan and Key Largo, Florida. Both outstanding references, in their own very unique ways, of the best of life on the water.
Then i moved to the pacific coast for various reasons and recognized immediately that Baja was it for me. the best of the left coast for sure. What a dream. A slice of paradise in what felt like the old West, and still does to some degree. Also, i could possibly afford to live there. I built a house in El Cardinal, the sleepy village North of Los Barriles, in 2004 and spent as much time as possible there while working in San Francisco.
Fast forward, fifteenish years. After two moves accross the us. I went to a wedding in Todos Santos, rented a vacation house for two months, switched coasts and now live here full time.
This is why we are having this conversation today.
The people in Pescadero are what I love most about this area. Locals and visitors here are so friendly and open. There is so much packed in to our little stretch of the highway. Live music, locally made coffee, more than a few great local watering holes, farmers market, fabulous ice cream shop, too many great places to eat that I can’t begin to list them. I love the surprises hidden all around this place. Like not having to drive for supplies while living right next to a fairly remote beach. The blessed Mini Super Munchies is right around the corner from us and conveniently sells top shelf liquor, coffee, cocktails, homemade food, the basics, and then some. We are surrounded by farms and get fresh fish in daily. So the quality of food is great, just to begin with. Add generations of cooking with essentially the same ingredients?! Yum.
I think Pedrito beach is the best beach of all the local ones and beyond. It is so beautiful. Really a hidden treasure. We are surrounded by beaches that are way more busy. Ours is a neighborhood beach. No vendors, no crowds, and no parking. Just a short foot path to a beautiful unspoiled beach with spectacular sunsets and a world class surf break. It is fun just to go watch the surfing! Which leads me to now.
Sometime after the move here, I fell in love with a local man, Guillermo. He is from La Paz and is a really great surfer, instructor, fisherman, and spear fisherman. He opened my eyes up to much more going on in the same area, showing me the true local side of Mexico. A really great gift. As much as I visited, I didn’t live here and missed a lot. So, when you get down here, we have all the connects. We can hook you up with anything. Really. Please ask us.
Presently we are having a ball hosting guests from all over the world and fulfilling our dream. We love showing this town to new people. It is a huge surprise if you haven’t been here yet.
The future? Who knows.
I hope it will be a balance of weird and wonderful, like always, and that yours is too!
Gracias for reading this far and best wishes,
Ericka

A szálláshelyen eltöltött időd során
We live a mile or so away. I love to share my local tips and Guillermo, a B.C.S. native knows even more fun stuff.
