Welcome to the Frio River Paradise @ Leakey. This new, very unique & custom built home sleeps up to 10 people is located on the banks of the Frio River is perfectly situated on a beautiful 1.6 acre private bend in the Frio with rustic relaxation in the hammocks under the trees or lounging on the large downstairs porch or star gazing on the 2nd floor patio and best of all the crystal clear running water of the Frio River and kayaks to enjoy the river.

Our home is a 3 bedroom, 3 Bath, newly built Custom Container House. It is totally custom, and well suited for RiverLife, this home has been built from the ground up, and has unique features throughout. It's approximately 2000 sf and will accommodate up to 10 guests. Each Upstairs Room has a "Purple" queen size bed, with private bathroom of which each is stylish in decoration. A queen pullout sofa with Memory Foam mattress. The downstairs bedroom with private bathroom tub/shower has again a queen size "Purple" mattress and a set of Twin Bunk beds, as well as a sitting area. It is a nice Air Conditioned room to sleep with 16 feet of large screened windows open and listen to the river and frogs or watch the Fireflies. Note: Our home is 2 story. There are stairs to main level. Please consider this if stairs are an issue for your mobility. There is a large 900 sf covered concrete patio underneath the home, well equipped for all your river fun, with large patio table, and lounges to enjoy the shade and breeze, large Gas/Charcoal grill to cook up all your delicious treats. There is also a 300 sf patio on the 2nd floor with table to enjoy river and hill country views, as well as do some star gazing, the skies are simply gorgeous at night.
Our Home is fully equipped and furnished for your needs, all essentials are included in the Rental, including but not limited to all Linens, Towels, Toiletries, cookware, dinnerware, water Toys, Kayaks, BBQ pit, fire pit, and many other items of everyday use for Splashing in the Water or Cooking a 5 course meal. I'ts all there for your use. We own approx 150 feet of river frontage, with a seasonal white sandy beach area, and green st. augustine grass area under large Cypress Trees, there is a table, chairs, and hammocks by the river for lounging as well as fire pit. Water depth from 6 inches of rocky bottom, to 6 feet of swimming hole. The fishing is fantastic in the upper/deeper portion of the Frio. We have 2 fishing kayaks available for use, and 2 river kayaks, lots of water toys, rope swing, and of course just lounging in the river and sun. With kayaks its possible to explore much of the river from our location without a pick up. Our home is very modern with all conveniences, with a private bath for every room, washer and dryer as well, this is not the average vacation rental, this is our personal vacation home, we want it to feel like your home as well. Please feel free to use any and all parts of the property, we just ask that you leave it as you found it. We have planted lush grass, and beautiful flowers, and have well established pecan trees, around the home we have put out wildlife feeders and provide a beautiful area for migrating animals and for the local wildlife to visit, pay attention you can see many varieties of birds and animals. Come enjoy the crystal clear spring water of the Frio River, stay a day, week or as long as you like, you will make memories of a lifetime.

There are a few grocery stores in Leakey to choose from:
Leakey Mercantile, has meat and fresh produce
Bear Market- more of a delicacy grocery store and has very good meat. It is a nice place to walk around as a family when stopping in town, and it also serves Blue Bell ice cream scoops
Family Dollar
Leakey Liquors- nest to Leakey Mercantile, has good wine and liquor selection.
Leakey Beverage Barn is another option for Wine and liquor as well as ice and soft drinks

Lala's- open M-Th 6:30am-2pm, Fr-Sun 6:60am-8:30pm
Pizza available at Tony's, the Bear Market and at the Frio Pecan Farm
The Pavilion at the Frio Pecan Farm (turn left at the Mercantile Market, follow signs) has excellent fried chicken and pork chops with fresh vegetables and good pizza/burgers during weekends
Mill Creek Cafe has a lunch buffet and a menu. Open everyday

My wife and I have always traveled alot, especially Mexico and all over the State of Texas. We wanted our own get away and found this place with its views and country atmosphere. To us this place is really cool. My wife and I were concerned about being able to afford the place, plus it is a 300 mile drive for us. Then we found out that neighbors monitor every car in and out of the place so that gave us a sense of security, then the realtor suggested we use it as a rental when we are not there to offset expenses. Bingo! We get there at least once a month and those expenses aren't as hard to handle with rentals. We were a little concerned about maintenance with people coming and going but we have had Great luck in that everybody takes good care of the place so other than a couple of good people cleaning the place after each rental, the maintenance has not been anymore than what would be normal.
