Southmoreland is a historic 1913 Mansion whose goal is to provide hospitality and comfort. It is conveniently located in the heart of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza. If your goal is to find a unique alternative to the classic downtown hotel, then look no further!

The main floor boasts a living room with a gas fireplace and wet bar, a dining room with a lengthy wood table and a sunroom with a porch swing. The veranda is lined with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden in summer.

Looking for something with a little more privacy? The Carriage House is the perfect hideaway from the hustle and bustle. Situated behind the Main House of Southmoreland, it is a self contained building that used to house the luxury carriages and horses in 1913.

It has been fully remodeled with 2 King Beds, one in the suite on the lower floor and one upstairs in the second suite. Both suites come with their own seating areas, WiFi enabled Smart TVs, and lovely appointed baths. The lower level features a soaker tub and the upper level comes equipped with a 2-person jacuzzi tub.

Whether it is a family wanting their own space, a pair of couples for a fun getaway weekend, or you simply like to spread out, the Carriage House booked as a whole will not disappoint! This building is SEPARATE from the Main House.

The House features sumptuous seating and contemporary ease making it a prime location to unwind. Between our harvest dining room, sunroom, veranda and outdoor patio you can host 28 guests for a stayover, and up to 40 guests for an onsite event. Plan your intimate family gathering, wedding, or corporate event.

The Property is located in the heart of the historic Southmoreland neighborhood. It is situated within steps of the Nelson Atkins Art Museum which is world famous and incredibly picturesque, as well as the Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, and the Kansas City Art Institute. Have a picnic on the lawn of the Nelson and then walk to the Plaza Shopping district for more fun!

Southmoreland on the Plaza is popular with leisure guests celebrating a special occasion or exploring Kansas City, as well as with business travelers seeking a well-deserved respite.

Each room is equipped with a Keurig machine, mini-fridge, Smart TV with Hulu and Hulu+ (along with any apps you'd like to log into). We're a 5 minute walk to all of the great local restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping on the Country Club Plaza!
