The house is perched on a hill above Hatillo, with spectacular views of Playa Guapil to the south and Manuel Antonio National Park to the north. Although you are close to the village, the house feels absolutely secluded.

When you enter the house, you enter a large modern open plan living space with fully equipped kitchen and access to the guest bathroom. The front of the house can be opened to the patio and pool area. We have plenty of books and board games: feel free to make use of them. There is also a movable desk with a 4K monitor, which can be freely moved around the house.

On the left of the house is the master bedroom with tall glass windows providing spectacular views of the landscape to the front and rainforest scenery to the left. When lying in bed at night with the curtains open, you can gaze the stars and occasionally watch lightning over the sea. The master bathroom is connected to an ensuite bathroom with rain shower.

On the right of the house is the second bedroom with tall glass windows and king-sized double bed. The 3rd bedroom is ideal for children with a double bunk bed. Both bedrooms are connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom with a rain shower.

The property has a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer that is accessible from the driveway.

Villa Vista Azul is located in the hills above Hatillo, Savegre, a quiet village with two supermarkets and two restaurants. The house is 8 km from Dominical, located on Costa Rica's amazingly beautiful South Pacific coastline. Dominical is a hidden paradise with something for everyone. There are shops, markets, restaurants, bars, hotels, yoga and surf schools, a gym and some amazing natural scenery and adventures. Dominical is known to have some of the best surf in the country. With its stunning backdrop of lush green forests and palm trees, this beach is also a great place to bird watch or take a canopy tour of the surrounding locale.

Besides Dominical beach, the house is close to other beaches perfect for those looking to relax or those looking to surf. 5 km from the house is Playa Linda, one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in the area. Other beaches within 20 km of the house are Playa Guapil, Playa Dominical, Playa Dominicalito and Playa Hermosa.

Only 30-45 minute’s drive from the house, you can easily visit two amazing national parks (Manuel Antonio and Marino Ballena in Uvita), some breath-taking waterfalls - most notably Nauyaca waterfalls, great rivers for rafting, and many other great nature and adventure tours. Manuel Antonio and Marino Ballena National Park are equipped with shower and changing facilities, allowing you to explore Manuel Antonio and Uvita after you visited the park.

If you feel adventurous, plan a day-trip to Los Quetzales National Park: it’s an amazing and enchanting cloud forest where you will see many bromeliads and birds. The drive is 2-2.5 hours one way.

We are two world travellers: Lars, an IT professional originally from rural Bavaria in Germany. Paul, an actor/director/producer originally from Brisbane, Australia. Having been to many exciting places all over the world, we kept on coming back to Costa Rica. This is in particular true for the area around Dominical, which is hip and happening without being overrun.

Lars has a passionate love for all things nature: being a keen gardener and grower of orchids and carnivorous plants, he has big plans for the grounds around Villa Vista Azul. The hill behind the house will eventually become a sanctuary of endangered and rare orchid species, as well as some other native plants. The property already sports some unusual trees, such as Costa Rica Apple, Mangosteen, Purple Starfruit tree, Mango trees and many others. If you are interested in plants: there are a couple of books about native plants in Costa Rica at the house for you to enjoy.

Paul is passionate about all things literature, films, theatre and art. He is also a people person and will be your main virtual contact when it comes to setting things up. You will also meet Josue, our property manager, who will greet you and ensure that everything runs smoothly when you are there.
