Hi unfortunately due to the Covid 19 Virus we are not open until further notice. Hopefully from September. We have a comfortable queen size bed in each room. The rooms are $100 each per night, $50 the second room for children accompanying their parents. We serve a delightful continental breakfast, served from 8am to 9am.. My partner Peter and I are retired. We have a beautiful lifestyle property in Bolwarra Vic, to live life and enjoy...we love to meet new people and Air BnB will hopefully give us that opportunity. We do have our beautiful new puppy, a Border Collie called Boris. He is 16 months old and loves cuddles. He was born the 06 of December 2020. Wonderful with children and adults. We have been travelling in our caravan and have house sat all over Australia, we stayed in Tasmania house sitting and we loved it so much. We were house sitting on the Gold Coast and we were there when the Cyclone came through in 2018. So although we will carry on travelling, we are now settled in our lovely home which we love? We have four wonderful children and 6 grandchildren living in Adelaide. Also my mum who is 98 yrs young and doing well. I go back to Adelaide to spend quality time with them often. I am hoping that I will see them here when they are not so busy and the Borders are open again. My son who dives for work loves it here and swam with the dolphins in January last year. Welcome to our tranquil garden, we would like you to feel at home and enjoy both our home and garden while you are here. So please feel free to use our outside veranda area's for your wine time or your cuppa coffee or tea, there are plenty of area's for you to sit/walk, to enjoy the many beautiful birds. Koalas are frequent visitors in our many lemon scented gum trees, and maybe an odd rabbit. Have a walk around and feel the sense of complete relaxation as we do. Ash trays are provided for outside use. We do have over 2 acres fully fenced with electric fencing to ageist your horse if you are travelling with one or two, at no extra cost to you. We also have push bikes that we are happy to loan out to you. Our new addition to our toys is a small fishing boat., maybe a spot of fishing could be organised. We have two bedrooms with Queen beds in each. Each room is $100 per night. If you are travelling with your children we will quite happily drop the second room to $50 per night. We do provide a continental breakfast included in the price of your room, from 8am until 9am. If you need to leave early please feel free to let us know. Due to the Corona Virus we are not able offer a cooked breakfast at this time. We have a lovely home theatre and you are welcome to use this room, we have Netflix, catch up TV, U tube, DVDs and NBN for free phone and your lap top. ( we will give you our password when you arrive). We can share the house with you, but we have our own private wing if you wish to be alone, and we would completely understand. At the moment unfortunately ( due to new laws with Air BnB) we can not share our home theatre or kitchen. But feel free to sit outside in the barbecue area to eat your own food. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT PORTLAND AND SURROUNDING AREAS, Portland is only 7 klm away from us and holds many historic sites. Portland is well known for its great fishing (however to fish (recreational) you do need a licence unless you are a pensioner. We have whale watching, hiking and scrumptious local food and wine to tempt those taste-buds. Great coffee shops too. For the walker/hiker we have the best activities to do in Portland, and that it is to experience the great South Weston Walk, which is a 250 Kilometre walking track which will take you through forests, gorges and cliff tops, or just a short walk, your choice. The Great West Walk walk starts at our house and will take you to Portland. The Eco walk features plenty of wildlife and fauna with some very spectacular scenery. There is also a sea lion boat trip from Bridgewater. Tucked away in Victoria's south west corner, it is not only the western gateway to the Great Ocean Rd but the perfect holiday destination for those who enjoys beaches, bays, history and heritage. Be enchanted by its hidden treasures. Port Fairy ( it has a cute fairy shop too) a delightful little town only 60 klms away has many great cafe's and shops, Op shops too if you are into them, oh and they have great beaches too. Then of course there is beautiful Nelson only 60 Klm from Portland. Nelson has many attractions, fishing, hiking, canoeing/boating, river cruises, diving and snorkelling and Princess Margaret Rose caves. We are very lucky to have two capes here. Cape Nelson and Cape Bridgewater. Cape Nelson has a 3 Km loop walk begins at the car park adjacent to the Cape Nelson Road and Scenic Drive. This park is home to sea birds and the unique soap Mallei gum trees. A small tree that occurs nowhere else in Victoria, yet is fairly common along the coast of SA. Echidnas are very plentiful within the park. You will also find the spectacular Cape Nelson Lighthouse which stands 32 metres tall and dates back to 1883, with a great cafe. Cape Bridgewater is another great place to visit. it is a pleasant 20 minute drive from Portland. The scenery en route to the cape offers a glimpse back in time, with stone ruins in paddocks, a testament to the area's 1840s farming settlement. The bay and beach offers a beachside café, toilets and the beach is protrolled by the local surf lifesaving club from the first week in December through to Easter. There is a seal colony walk ( a small boat will take you to the colony where if you wish you can swim with the Seals). Whales can also be seen at certain times of the year. The Petrified Forest is a must to see too. Some say it was formed when a forest of Moonah trees was smothered by a large sand dune. Water seeped down through the sand to form a crust of sandstone on the outside of the trunks, decaying the organic matter, leaving behind "petrified" trunks. The very famous Treloar Roses are a delightful sight Just at the end of our Road. Then you must not miss the Strawberry farm, you can pick your own fresh yummy strawberry's or purchase home made strawberry ice cream. Come and ride our great little Tram too. It takes you all around Portland. through the Botanical Gardens and past some magical coastal strips and stops at many stops for you to jump on and off as you please. So until we meet then. Safe travels. Cheers Sandra and Peter Live life to the full because tomorrow may never happen....
