Forest Heart Cabin is the perfect getaway or remote work office. It is private and quiet, with a breath-taking view of the Knysna forest.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, champagne on the deck when you arrive and watch the sun rise over the mountains in the morning or soak in the luxurious slipper bath at sunset! The Cabin is ideally located and a 10-15 minute drive to Knysna, as well as the gorgeous Buffalo Bay Beach and a number of must-do forest walks.

A hely
The Cabin is a fully wooden building close to the Knysna indigenous forest. The Cabin features a master bedroom, and a spare room as well as a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and lounge where you can snuggle up to our wood fired fireplace on cold days. The most recent addition is a gorgeous outdoor slipper bath on a private deck, to soak away your troubles.

Hey! I'm Shirley. Thanks for stopping by!

I host Forest Heart Cabin with my boyfriend John. We met and studied in Grahamstown at Rhodes University and recently moved to John's hometown Knysna, where we live in with our kitten, Nugget and our pup, Zircon.

I'm passionate about supporting local businesses and eco friendly living. You'll find me on the beach, or hunting for the best coffee spots in town. My ideal day involves strolling around the local market and picking out beautiful, fresh fruits and flowers.

John is a hands on DIYer who can turn just about anything into something totally amazing. His ideal day involves getting stuck into a satisfying and problem solving project. He's the creator of the Cabin's bedside tables, the bed frames, he installed the fireplace (with a little help from me!) and hand made our custom, dim-able lantern bedside lamps!

Our style of travelling?
We like to embrace the concept of slow travel. When travelling, the emphasis is less on manic sightseeing and more on taking in our surroundings at a relaxed pace.

I'm all about food, so any place I travel to; top priority is discovering the best restaurants, coffee spots and markets.
John is a passionate geologist and woodworker, who enjoys scouring the local thrift stores for rare woodworking tools.

We live on the same large property (so we are always happy to assist with anything guests need), but guests experience complete privacy. Guests may hear us arriving and leaving from the property as we all share the same driveway.
We like to our allow guests to self-check in. We are available to meet guests most of the time, but encourage our guests to enjoy the privacy that the surrounding nature provides.
