It was bought by my grandfather in New York in 1921 - and was used by the Norwegian missionaries in China in numerous mountain villages before being transported home to Norway on the transsiberian railway.

  • The bathroom was completely renovated and extended in 2016. It includes parts of the loft and is decorated with photos of the magnificent view you will have when doing your "business" :)

  • Bedroom 1 is not the biggest, but it has the most magnificent view over the fjord. Here you can wake up to a fantastic sunrise - and enjoy it with your loved one from the bed before breakfast :)
  • Bedroom 1 has a soft double bed.
  • Bedroom 2 - with two single beds. This is the biggest bedroom.  You can add an additional air mattress if needed.

  • Bedroom 3 used to be a kitchen in the old days :) .  Now it has a double bed. The old suitcase on the floor was used by my grand parents when they travelled home from China to Stord in 1935.
  • View from the balcony on the second floor: The "chicken house" was build during WWII. In the basement they kept a cow to have milk for the children, while the main floor was used to raise chicken. Today the building is just used for storage.
  • In the spring the apple tree brings beautiful flowers.
  • The weather changes fast in western Norway - and sometimes the sun pushes through the clouds to create the most amazing views.

  • Morning walk to Mjelkevikjo,  a couple of kilometers from the house through a beautiful forest track. This is also a good place to go swimming and sun-bathing in the summer.
  • Stord is an island - but easily accessed via the 8 kilometer long Bømla fjord tunnel and the 1 kilometer long Stord bridge.
  • In the romantic mood? Turn of the lights in the living room and watch the full moon together!
And yes, you have the same view from the bed in bedroom 1 upstairs :)
