This home provides xtra amenities at a great value :) We’re dedicated to following the CDC recommendations to ensure the space we share with you is a clean and safe place for us all. AirBnB offers an optional safety measure for even more peace of mind; we've chosen to implement a 24HR window in between a guest check out and the next arrival. We've also added an indoor Air Purifier

Pahoa Paradise Hale is exclusively a private home when booked. This 2 BEDROOM, 1 FULL bath home sits on a beautiful third acre. You'll have the main guest bedroom with a queen bed, a smaller second guest bedroom with a regular size futon and a full bath. Enjoy an open space kitchen where you'll find many essentials for your cooking needs. Including condiments, spices and we provide some lite breakfast/snack options too :) The living room is spacious with a 40' TV. The couch can be converted to a double size sleeper sofa (comfortable for one person)

You'll enjoy this Hawaiian style Hale with the exception of the master bedroom. Which has its own private entry. It is locked off and unoccupied
* NOTE: the washer/dryer is NOT available for guest use (with the exception of stays for 6 nights or more can be made) - The Big Island has one of the highest electricity rates in the country. Bookings of 6 nights or more; arrangements for one day (24hrs) laundry use can be made for a flat fee of $10; instructions will be provided. Inquire with Host before or after you book
* Take in the backyard views by relaxing in our enclosed screened lanai (patio.) We have a charcoal BBQ, lawn lounge chairs, local fruit when available/or in season. We provide lots of outdoor items such as; beach chairs, boogie board, beach umbrella, small cooler, snorkel gear (2sets) and beach toys for kids!
* Parking for 2 cars in the driveway: no parking on the grass. There is no garage or carport. Your front door is under the porch and up 6 stairs

* We request guests check the below items for washing/cleaning thoroughly especially the day of check out. We enforce an additional $10 fee per each of any the below that are not cleaned thoroughly (this is the responsibility of the guest, not the cleaner/CoHost)

- snorkel gear/beach gear/cooler
- BBQ grill (if used during your stay)

* CURRENTLY AirBnb and the state of Hawaii do not charge or collect the general excise tax (%4.71) as well as the transient acccomodation tax (%10.25) when you book. Pahoa Paradise Hale is offered at an affordable rate to help offset the cost of taxes. You'll receive a message one day before your stay or upon arrival with the tax amount due and instructions for payment

* Pahoa Paradise Hale is cleaned with environmentally friendly products in addition to CDC approved sanitizing and disinfecting cleaning products
* NON SMOKING home: please respect smoking is NOT permitted
* Washer/dryer is NOT available for guest use - Stays of 6 nights or more laundry use can be arranged one day use for flat fee $10 - due to Hawaii's high electricity rates
* NOTE: (NOISE DISCLAIMER) not my direct neighbors but near by neighbors with dogs will bark from time to time. It’s also possible you may occasionally hear music (non instrumental) from neighbors nearby. No complaints thus far
* ALL over the Southeast side you'll hear nature sounds. Such as; passing rain storms, birds, the occasional chicken or rooster and Coqui frogs at night. Do a search online about Hawai’i Coqui Frogs
* NO air conditioning: ceiling fans are in each room, plus 4 portable fans. The guest bedrooms are usually the coolest parts of the house. Fyi: warmest months of the year are usually June thru September
* On warm/sunny days if you’re inside the home it's usually warmest between 10am to 5pm: We suggest closing the front curtains/windows and turn on the fans. Or go to one of my favorite spots the Ice Ponds in Hilo
* Pahoa Paradise Hale has a top of the line rain-water catchment system. You'll notice as you're out exploring the majority of homes in the Pahoa area happily use rain catchment for our water needs. Pahoa gets on average a 100 inches a year! My catchment has a high-grade food liner for its 10,500 gallon capacity.  The rainwater passes thru a strict filtration system. The catchment tank/filtration system is carefully and regularly monitored
* DRINKING WATER: we have safe, quality, 4 stage filtered (last stage is UV filtration)  drinking water available from the spigot at the kitchen sink

We kindly ask to please go online and research the location/area of Pahoa. It’s the responsibility of the guest to have a general idea of the area in which you’ll be staying. This way you know what to expect. For example: Hilo Airport is 25 minutes away - Downtown Hilo 30 min away - Closest beaches are 30 min away - Historic Downtown Pahoa 12-14 minutes. This helps you get an idea of the proximity as it relates to my home's location
* Puna/Pahoa area is made up of many beautiful and unique subdivisions. This home is located in the Ainaloa subdivision of Pahoa. My Hale has been an ideal base for many guests (see reviews :) CENTRALLY LOCATED: main Hwy 130 is a 5 min drive away. From there you can head to: downtown Pahoa, our new LAVA fields/Pohoik Beach Park (black sand), the Kalapana coast, Kehena Black Sand beach, McKenzie State Park, downtown Hilo, Rainbow Falls, Panaewa Zoo just 20 min away (admission by donation), Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory, Volcano National Park, Akaka Falls, Mauna Kea and more! Closest grocery store is 10-12 minutes away in Pahoa. My area is safe and generally quiet. Dogs will bark once in awhile. There are lots of dog owners in the Puna/Pahoa neighborhoods. Last please KEEP IN MIND WHEN BOOKING the Southeast side of the Big Island is known as “the wet side” - while we have many beautiful sunny days we also average a 100’ of rain each year. You may happen to be visiting during a rainy/extra humid period. Many guests experience a mix of sun and rain
