Mit fogunk csinálni?

Some places only come alive after dark, or at least in the later hours of the day - and indeed that might be said of Dublin. At evening time the city's majestic architecture, its wrought-iron railings and bridges take on an eerie, almost Dickensian look. And yet this is Ireland, and the nearby pubs teem with banter and the strains of lively Irish music played on the fiddle and on the tin whistle. . .

The Evening Tour will show you what few visitors see - Dublin’s more romantic ‘after 6pm’ ambience - with neither an office worker nor another tourist in sight. A great end-of-day activity for couples, groups or just the individual flâneur, the tour starts from the iconic Spire in O'Connell Street and calls at the General Post Office and the city's haunted Ha'penny Bridge.

We briefly immerse ourselves in a more contemporary Dublin as we visit the lively Temple Bar district, and call in on The Project - the club where supergroup U2 were originally spotted by talent scout Paul McGuinness.

Moving on, we view the Old Irish Parliament and the elegant Mansion House - home to Dublin's Lord Mayor and the first dedicated mayoral residence in either Ireland or Great Britain.

Our evening stroll finally concludes at the Molly Malone statue, opposite O'Neills' Gastropub.... I'll then let you know who the legendary Molly Malone really was - and tell you the tragic secret of her beauty!

I'm an experienced Dublin Tour Guide with over 400 5-star reviews to my name online, and have been tour guiding for nearly 10 years now; I've led bus tours not only around Dublin but also to the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare and the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland (with Wild Rover Tours). I am regularly in demand with most of the main walking tour operators in the Irish Capital, and like to spice up my tour content with quirky and unusual items such as referencing the Viking Sagas (which mention a lot about Dublin), the fact that Ireland once had its own time zone (did you know that?), as well as a little of our local Dublin humor.

Hol leszünk?

We start at The Spire and General Post Office (HQ of the 1916 Rising) in O'Connell St., moving on to the Ha'penny Bridge and Temple Bar district. The grounds of Trinity College Dublin and Dáil Éireann - Ireland's House of Representatives - are our next stops, then we swing by the Mansion House (Home of Dublin's Lord Mayor) and conclude at the Molly Malone Statue beside O'Neills' Gastropub.

This was a fast paced and fact filled adventure. We learned some history and some great information about the unique personality of the Irish people. We went to some fascinating, off the beaten trail points of interest. The small group was really fun. We loved Jack's stories. Overall, a very enjoyable evening.

Fascinating "back story" on important chapters in Irish history, told in connection with different locations in central Dublin. We loved Jack's passion for the history of this amazing land, along with his depth and breadth of knowledge.

The tour was as entertaining as informative. Jack is a great storyteller with a lot of knowledge, who understands to give a thorough amount of background knowledge with a mix of political as well as music/literature history. Time flew by, awesome experience!
