Please note I live in Los Alamos, a 50 minute drive from Santa Fe. When you schedule your experience, kids under 12 are free with an adult. Are you interested in petting goats? Learning about dairy goats or chickens? Do you like taking a walk? Are you interested in meeting 11 goats, 1 llama, 3 turkeys, 1 duck and lots of chickens? Do you have questions about raising backyard chickens? Or what it takes to raise goats? This experience will start with a 15 to 20 minute walk with 11 goats and then feeding. You will meet at my house and follow me about one mile to where my animals stay. People ask me, "How do you get them to follow you?" I tell them, "If you fed them, they would follow you, too!!" On the walk out, they lead the way. Once you turn around to return to their lot, they realize it is feed time and they lead the way. Once we get back to the lot, I will feed the animals, hay in the trough, throw out chicken scratch, etc. Then we will just hang out and pet the goats. When the goats calm down a bit, I will ask if you want to feed them. The Dottie Llama MIGHT let you feed her. She is shy. If you are under 10 or so, your adult will have to help you feed and pet.
