Do you have a story inside of you waiting to come out? Maybe you have a character formed in your mind, or the premise of an intriguing tale, but you're not sure how to put it down on paper and turn it into a full book. Or maybe you want to write a book, but you don't know where to start.
All stories have a beginning, middle and end, and all stories follow a pattern. Together, we will brainstorm your idea, create dynamic characters that are larger than life, and learn the key components that go into a fully completed novel or screenplay.
This is an online experience, so an internet connection is needed. Other than that you'll just need pen and paper and of course, creativity. Allow for 60-80 minutes.

This is a gem of a class that I just happened to come across while looking for lodging options. Katy provides you with both sound personalized feedback on characters, plot, and scenes for your story, and also the structure and process for how best to assemble and write it. Our class was supposed to be only one hour, but Katy worked with us for close to two. Afterward, I had a better grasp of how all the pieces of a story are drafted within the construction of writing a novel, and the best ways to connect them. Highly valuable information at a low cost. Don't think too hard on this one. She is great.

My husband signed us up for this course as a Christmas present for me this year. We have both been toying with the idea of writing a book and wanted to take it more seriously. Our class with Katy was fantastic - she paid careful attention to each of our ideas (which were quite different) and had prepared useful thought exercises to help us develop our characters and plot lines. Katy did a great job making us feel comfortable and motivated.
